Our primary objective is to teach Spanish effective and efficient methods so students can speak the language in a short period of time. Another important objective is to teach in a less formal and enjoyable atmosphere.
We want our students to learn the most useful ways of communicating in Spanish when traveling to Spanish speaking countries.
We also want our students to learn the foundation and most important elements of the Spanish language to be used in real life situations.
Students should experience courses enriched with discussion and examples from the Latin culture such as idioms, music, traditions and food. In short we want our youngest of students to experience the “flavours” of the Spanish language and gain some insight into the various Latin cultures.
To promote learning and understanding between our students and Spanish speaking people.
Learning Spanish should be FUN, SPONTANEOUS and EXPERIENTIAL

Children’s classes were introduced in the Fall of 2018 and have gained a lot of interest. We offer 2 levels according to age category of the student. It is the best time to introduce a second language to anyone! Many scientific studies such as the Brain Story (Alberta Family Wellness Initiative) stress the fact that it is precisely at the age of 6 that the brain has it’s highest number of neurons and synapses. This is when the brain can make best use of the information it is given. Synapses built/connected at this time of life will last throughout the life span of the individual. So, the time IS now!

Our two age categories and times they are offered are:

Kids 6 - 9 yrs: Saturday - 10 AM - 11:00 AM

Ages 6 - 9 years Children will be immersed in the Spanish language and Latin culture in small group classes (maximum 12 students to allow for a comfortable, interactive and fun-filled atmosphere). Native Spanish-speaking instructors,specialists in child education, will provide authentic learning experiences through music, movement, games and art. The focus will be on building vocabulary and the use of phonics to introduce Spanish and a love for learning other languages to our youngest students! No previous experience with Spanish is necessary.

Kids 10 - 12 yrs: Saturday - 11:30 - 12:30

Ages 10 -12 years At this level, we develop student listening, speaking, reading and writing skills as well as discovering Latin culture. Small group classes (max 12 students) will allow for comfort, interaction and fun. Instruction incorporates music, movement, props, games and art at an age appropriate for this older age category of student. No previous experience necessary.

Upon completion of the 10-12 year level, students may progress to adult level classes which are more challenging and yet still age appropriate for the specific student. If some of the students show higher language skills, they will be assessed and placed into a special class with children of similar abilities.
